We will host a Workshop on Scientific Computing and Machine Learning at Penn State, immediately following the SIAM NNP conference. This event celebrates the contributions of Professor Jinchao Xu to scientific computing and numerical analysis, and honors his distinguished tenure at Penn State.

Date and Location

The third meeting of SIAM-NNP will be held at Pennslyvania State University in State College, PA, October 31 - November 2, 2025.

Deadlines and Submissions

Please submit talks, posters and minisymposia by September 15th, 2025.

Minisymposia—A minisymposium will consist of five 20-minute presentations, with an additional four minutes for discussion after each presentation. Minisymposia organizers can submit up to three sessions per minisymposium, thus allowing up to 15 speakers.

Instructions for submitting a minisymposium:

  • Select "Minisymposium session" as the submission type. DO NOT select "Minisymposium talk"; your invited speakers will select this option when submitting their talks after your minisymposium is approved.
  • List the minisymposium (co)organizers as the "Author(s)".
  • You must upload a list of your tentative speakers + their tentative talk titles. Please upload this list as a pdf or Word document when asked for Supplemental Data.

Contributed Presentations—You may submit a contributed talk of 20 minutes + 4 for discussion.

Posters—You may submit a poster for our poster session.

The registration fee will be $100. You can pay via the siam website. Registration will be free for all graduate and undergraduate students; postdocs will need to pay the $100 registration fee.

We will also hold a banquet on November 1st in conjunction with the business meeting. You are welcome to join us for the banquet with a fee of $36. When registering, please be sure to select both the registration and banquet options if you plan to attend the banquet.

We are already aware of some potential scams being sent to registered participants. When in doubt, please don't hesitate to contact Yue Yu (yuy214@lehigh.edu), Wenrui Hao (wxh64@psu.edu), and/or Joseph Nakao (jnakao1@swarthmore.edu).
